I'm Karen Stoner, and few things get my guests as excited as a brand-new Disney ship. Disney Cruise Line just revealed the details of the Disney Believe, and I've gathered everything you need to know so you can decide whether it's the right ship for your family.

When does the Disney Believe sail, and where does it go?

The Disney Believe sets sail on December 18, 2027, from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It offers short 4- and 5-night cruises to the Caribbean and The Bahamas, with stops at Disney Castaway Cay, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, or both.

It's the fourth Wish Class ship, joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. Short sailings like these are a wonderful first Disney cruise, and they're easy to fit into a school break.

When can I book the Disney Believe?

General booking opens on October 19, 2026, but past Disney cruisers and a few other groups can book earlier:

Date Who can book
October 12 Pearl Castaway Club members
October 13 Platinum Castaway Club members, Golden Oak residents, Club 33 members
October 14 Gold Castaway Club members
October 15 Silver Castaway Club members, Disney Vacation Club members, Adventures by Disney Adventure Insiders
October 19 Everyone

If you've sailed Disney before, check your Castaway Club level. It could give you a head start of up to a full week, and on a new ship, that head start matters.

What will I see when I step aboard?

You'll walk into a Grand Hall that celebrates exploration and the power of nature, with a statue of Moana and her companions Pua and Heihei at its center. Look down for an ocean-colored carpet with bioluminescent hues, and look up for a flowing chandelier with the heart of Te Fiti hidden inside.

Outside, Tinker Bell graces the bow, and Woody and Buzz Lightyear keep watch on the stern. (Artist concepts shown. © Disney)

What shows and entertainment are new on the Disney Believe?

The biggest headline is Disney Encanto, the world's first stage version of the film, playing only on the Believe. It features vibrant costumes, traditional Colombian dance, and songs like "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and "Surface Pressure."

  • Tangled: The Musical returns with a new set and special effects unique to the Believe.
  • Disney Seas the Adventure, the Wish Class original show, completes the theater lineup.
  • Gazelle is a new Zootopia-inspired hub with family trivia and games by day, and adults-only fun like silent discos at night.
  • For the first time on Disney Cruise Line, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde star in a family show where guests help solve a case.

What's new for dining?

The new restaurant is Oaken's Table: A Frozen Family Feast, an untold chapter of the Frozen story. You'll dine in a forest summer-house courtyard with Oaken, Anna, and Kristoff while Oaken's cousins play their own versions of favorite Frozen songs.

  • 1923 and Worlds of Marvel return to complete the dinner rotation.
  • Big Hero Sips and Café Kakamora are two new cafés inspired by Big Hero 6 and Moana.
  • Inside Out: Joyful Sweets offers treats for purchase.
  • Pluto's Pita Platters, a Mediterranean-inspired stall only on the Believe, joins the open-air food court.

Is the Disney Believe a good choice for adults?

Yes. The Believe adds some of the most beautiful adults-only spaces in the Disney fleet, which is why I recommend Disney to couples and empty nesters more often than people expect.

  • Sea Notes is a shimmering piano lounge inspired by Ariel's grotto.
  • Wishing Well is a storybook lounge inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
  • Skygazers is an observatory-themed pub with star maps and towering bookshelves.
  • Haunted Mansion Parlor returns, along with Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud, The Rose, Quiet Cove, and Senses Spa.

Which parts of the Disney Believe fit my crew?

Here's how I'd match the highlights to who's sailing:

Who's sailing Don't miss
Young kids (3 to 10) Disney's Oceaneer Club (with a Monsters, Inc. entrance only on the Believe), AquaMouse, Oaken's Table
Tweens and teens Edge (11 to 13), Vibe (14 to 17), Gazelle, Encanto
Couples and empty nesters Sea Notes, Wishing Well, Skygazers, Palo Steakhouse, Senses Spa
Multi-generation families Concierge level, Royal Reef or Royal Rose Suites, Encanto

Every stateroom features new papercut-style artwork inspired by Moana, Coco, and The Lion King. Concierge guests get an Alice in Wonderland-themed lounge and a private sun deck, seven special oceanview rooms are themed to Toy Story, and the two-story Magic Kingdom Tower Suite features lighting inspired by the park at night. You can compare Disney with other lines on my Ocean Cruises page.

How do I get the best stateroom on a brand-new ship?

The best way is to plan before booking opens. On a new ship, the most popular staterooms, concierge rooms, and suites often go during the early booking windows, before general booking even starts.

When you work with me, I'll compare sailings and stateroom options with you ahead of time, so you're ready the moment your window opens. You'll find more answers on my Cruise FAQ.
